Fee free TAFE places set to continue in 2024

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

Great news for students enrolling in 2024! The Western Australian Government has announced its continued commitment to deliver fee free TAFE and vocational education and training (VET) places in 2024.

The Western Australian and Australian Governments have signed a Fee Free TAFE Agreement to deliver more fee free training to Western Australians in priority industry sectors.

Premier Roger Cook and Minister for Training, Simone McGurk, made the announcement at North Metropolitan TAFE’s East Perth Campus where they met with students mapping out their future careers in surveying, thanks to fee free training for qualifications in priority sectors.

In 2024, fee free training will continue to be available across 130 courses, with all Western Australians eligible to access the program through TAFE colleges and selected private training providers throughout the state.

Fee free places will continue to build Western Australia’s workforce to help meet the demands of priority industry areas including early childhood education and care; health care; aged and disability care; technology and increasing digital skills; hospitality and tourism; construction and agriculture.

Since the launch of the WA Government’s FREE IN ’23 program, around 34,500 Western Australians have enrolled in fee free full qualifications and skill sets.

First Nations people, young people, people out of work or receiving income support, unpaid carers, people with disability, and women facing economic insecurity are particularly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for tuition fee free training.

Applications are now open for FEE FREE courses in 2024.
