Technology Park

At Central Regional TAFE we have many post-trade qualifications available at facilities across our campuses and are particularly proud of our state-of-the-art training facility in Geraldton; Technology Park. Opened in 2015, Technology Park is a hub for providing training and qualifications for trainees, apprentices, post-trade, technicians and plant operators.

With our large, heavy-duty automotive workshops, two heavy-duty automotive classrooms, truck inspection pits, fuel stores, and even wash-down facilities, students receive a well-rounded education in both theory and practical skills for their chosen field. Technology Park is also equipped with a student common room perfect for class breaks, mealtimes, and networking between students.

State-of-the-art workshops

With a dedicated hydraulics lab, a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Mill and a CNC lathe, the Specialist Instrumentation Lab at the Kalgoorlie campus are perfect for onsite practical training and assessment for those who are wanting post-trade qualifications in Engineering programs.

This laboratory boasts six fully equipped mobile training electrical instrumentation rigs, and our Cert IV in Engineering opens up opportunities for learners to progress into Electrical Instrumentation, Fluid Power and CNC Machining.

Training Restaurants

Geraldton's Zeewijk Training Restaurant has been specifically constructed for training Hospitality and Commercial Cookery students.

Kalgoorlie Campus also has a training restaurant, and both restaurants are staffed by students to ensure that they receive hands-on experience in the management of a real restaurant with real customers. 

Training Salons

Students in our Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, and Massage courses can also work towards their post-trade qualifications in Geraldton campus’ Evolution Hair, Beauty & Massage Training Salon, or Kalgoorlie campus’ Beauty and Hairdressing Training Centre. Supervised by qualified practitioners and lecturers and run by students, these training salons serve real customers, ensuring they have a high standard of experience and plenty of practice as they attain their qualifications.

Masterclass Training Vessel

If you are looking for a post-trade qualification in Fishing, Maritime, or Aquaculture, the Geraldton Campus has a 20m Master Class Training Vessel and is used for charters to the Abrolhos Islands, as well as scuba diving courses.
